I'm not sure about the accuracy of this quote. In git world branch names have nothing to do with repositories. If anything, the "source of truth" repository is generally called "origin".

Fair point. I just tested using tcpdump and the IP address in the response doesn't in fact end with a dot.

That doesn't sound right. A "tcpdump -n -s0 -x -X port 53" shows that the server simply returns "outlook-com.olc.protection", not a FQDN, for "dig mx outlook.com".

The law is not bizarre in essence (there are details that are bizarre though): You are free to ask money for your content. On the other hand, Facebook is free to not buy your it.

Blackmail is an exaggeration. The government is asking them to pay for news articles (that have been voluntarily shared) and what Facebook simply says is "we liked the articles when they were free, but thanks, we don't want to buy

I don't think I follow. The point is a hardware wallet is not as convenient as an exchange as you can always recover your account if you forget your password. It's not as secure though, as the private keys are hold by someone else
