When I did the same, also 15 years ago, the lab on campus would only Sanger sequence my insert - and for targets larger than ~600bp I also had to include internal sequencing primers (that had to be ordered separately, shipped, etc). Plasmid

Yes and no. I enjoy getting personal tasks done in the morning before work, especially those that require a sharp mind. Like you mentioned, I feel worn out mentally and the end of the day, though I find I'm happier and more productive

People choose to be tested for Huntington disease, including many young adults who have recently turned 18 (in the USA). While, like yourself, I don't know what I would personally chose to do if faced with this situation, the availabil

The only solution I can think of is for myself to buy a lifted truck or other similar unnecessarily large vehicle. I haven't done this, of course, but if I did I'd then be part of the problem but at least my eye line would be abov

The media is primarily reporting good news instead of actual news. Twitter has been the best source of images, videos, and descriptions of what is happening on the ground. Search #deprem (earthquake in Turkish) to see for yourself.

This type of data is being collected at large academic institutions who are doing longitudinal analyses of their patient population.

Yes, the extra chromosome 21 comes from the mother in approximately 90% of cases.

I think so. I was getting skin irritation if I exercised while wearing earbuds and the AfterShockz eliminate that problem for me. Sound quality is good for podcasts. I don't listen to much music at all with them.

It is rather dishonest to compare a chromosomal disorder with obesity, don't you think? Trisomy 21 is a condition one is born with and has no control over. On the other hand it has been demonstrated time and time again that behavioral

IMO, the content can often be unrelated to science, as many tweets even by established scientists are about politics or other topics. There is also a large contingent of early career scientists trying to use twitter to get their name out th

Phase 1 trials are used to determine drug toxicity. All that reault really says is that the new drug won't itself kill the patients. It still needs to be compared relative to the standard of care in larger phase 2 and 3 trials.

I would argue that a miracle anti aging drug would work well for the majority of the population, much like NSAIDs work well for the majority of the population. Bonus points for being cheap and easy to synthesize.
