i'd recommend experimenting a bit, what works best for you. eg. for me lying flat on my back watching a monitor above me works for maybe 20min, then my eyes get dry, very uncomfortable. also check out http://www.earth360.com

I'd say it's not so much about the ads, more about the way they're delivered with all those shady tricks for tracking and fingerprinting. IMHO ad blocking is more about privacy than anything else...

I used the SASS version, too. But I found that in the end all the customization took me more time, than I usually need to set up the site without Bootstrap. For me Bootstrap is now more a helpful guideline than a practical codebase.
