Outstanding.I felt as if I was warping through space in Eve Online! In all seriousness, amazing demo. Well done. Off-topic but interested: It doesn't display correctly in Firefox (only renders a small segment of the space warp). Why is this

Agreed, every child is different. What is the definition of properly and at what point does a child reach that state? The poster has minimised a complex parent -> child relationship to a a binary state of being raised properly or not.

I love the look and feel of the site, well done. I understand some of the frustration in the discussion about required registration but the site is still definitely worth a look. The half alive/half dead cat icon for quantum mechanics made

Thanks for this, not being an iOS user I was unaware of this. This seems a much more sensible approach to take. Hopefully others will follow suit.

All good points and I'm sure many of the app developers on HN will be able to give reasons as to why they are unable to provide this information on the apps they develop and I suspect it is all closely controlled by the platform as opposed

I would like to see Apple, Android and Microsoft provide a mechanism where the developers can explain, in their own terms, why they need access to certain permissions. I own an HTC HD7 which is WindowsPhone 7. I remember installing some gen

I was under the impression that this would be covered under copyright and not a particular licence. As soon as the artwork was created by the artist it belongs to the artist, they don't even need to put a copyright symbol next to it. My adv

I cannot disagree more. The fact she made it to the top of a male dominated fields cannot and should not in any way be tied to a notion of respect. Take a trip to North Lanarkshire and you can still see the impact that the closing of Ravens

This is the first I had heard of this particular story although I am aware similar stories like this exist. This follows on from another story on HN (can't find the HN link) about a UK armed forces member being denied boarding on a Virgin f

The thing that stuck out the most for me was your state of mind. You mentioned how you have struggled emotionally and felt the hit of three rejections. You then go on to say you like being emotionally attached to things that you do. It seem

As a user of the excellent Protocol Buffers this is great news. I was especially interested in the Inter-Process communication and random access. Hopefully we'll see some ports to other languages soon.

That's their job though. Don't forget, the face of that new hype machine is also an employee at Yahoo now. I am sure if he stays at Yahoo long enough he will also be asked to integrate other acquisitions into software he is working on. You

I did find that sentence a little strange myself. I didn't think jealousy from the writer, my first thought was "why should the employees be jealous?" Is it the employees of Summify, didn't they all receive a nice payment ($1m each)? And I
