I've been testing GOS on a Pixel 5a along side my iPhone. It works fantastically. Highly recommended.

Such a weasely email too. No mention of getting hacked. They just decided to contact me a year after I last used the service because they’re randomly concerned about my password.

Has there been any analysis done on the firmware running on the various ICs in the Pixel phones?

Android app development just seems like such a hodgepodge of tools. Keeping Android SDK/NDK, Gradle, Kotlin, and Android Studio (plus all the associated plug-ins for each) working well is a full-time job.

Easily my favorite game of all time. Like many, my hardcore playing years were 1999-2004. Over the years I did drop into Project 1999^, and it’s always an amazingly fun bomb of nostalgia, but it falls short of the 99-04 era magic. ^ Still d

Is there a mature, production ready library for deploying deep neural networks in Rust? Searches end up being all over the place and end with a library that hasn’t been maintained in years.

Whew, glad I decided to scroll HN right now. I've been puzzling over why I'm getting "! [remote rejected] master -> master (Internal Server Error)" as well while trying to push and decided to take a break.

I’m worried about JetBrains too. From what I can tell, only a small portion of their team (including the founders) are located outside Russia. That’s a lot of people left inside Russia to be pressured, manipulated, and abused into complianc

What an excellent post. LinkedIn seems to be getting worse and worse, merging in the worst aspects of the every-photo-is-staged "influencer" culture from Instagram and the stupid/not-inspirational/definitely-not-true mem

This is a really good blog post, and a timely one for me. Our company is also taking this road less traveled and it's really not easy (not that building any business - VC backed or not - is easy!). My co-founder and I struggle with thi

Do you have a recommendation for a good treadmill to go under a standing desk? This is a very interesting idea.

I’ve had pretty good success with dev related searches on you.com. I like the idea of being able to downvote garbage sources. Who owns the company?

Great summary. This article was probably put together by HR/Comms. So much of this crap on LinkedIn. “#leadership”.

No, you should treat people like adults, set a deadline, and let them execute to that deadline. Many people balance multiple tasks, objectives, and goals and so taking 10 hours for a task that was assigned 10 hours is perfectly reasonable.

Along these same lines - I'm looking to leave Dropbox. Has anyone used Tresorit or SpiderOak? I use it basically for cold storage - just a place to store images, files, etc. that I only access very, very rarely. I generally use iCloud

Feels like LinkedIn has gone down this road as well. It really doesn’t feel like a professional network any longer… too much attention seeking spam.

This is sort of an aside, but I find it interesting that so many people’s threat models include the NSA/CIA. I see it all over the privacy-focused forums and subreddits I read. Don’t get me wrong - I believe privacy is a fundamental ri
