I'm not sure from "they could afford payroll because they laid everyone off" I would conclude that they weren't struggling for cash.

I feel like I addressed this in my comment. On a laptop , someone who went through what OP went through would surely be able to click "Edit" at the top of https://www.openstreetmap.org , and add a SuperCharger. If they

FWIW, editing OpenStreetMap is very straightforward*, and with that, you're actually contributing to an open data set that everyone is allowed to use, rather than just propping up Google. (To be fair, on a laptop - I'm sure Google

Keep in mind that just because it works for me, that doesn't mean that you're not running into a bug that I'm not, so I can't make any promises about it actually being fixed for you :)

Worth knowing: you can also use @tabs, @history, @bookmarks, etc. now. Way easier to remember :)

I just tried it out with this page, and it gets the HN icon for me. I am on Nightly and on Linux, so possibly this is an actual bug you're running into, but no fix in sight might be too pessimistic. But definitely worth reporting other

I mean, there are plenty of reasonable takes (some of which are criticism) too. Generally, working at Mozilla doesn't make it much more torturous than before, when I was merely an unpaid open web advocate :) (Reading every comment is

I wasn't saying that Apple is just as monopolistic as Google; I was saying that Google is paying Apple orders of magnitude more than it is paying Mozilla. According to your argument, that would mean that Google is trying to keep Apple&

Huh funny, now that you mention it: at least in the Netherlands, job listings have had "(m/v)" (male/female) in the title since forever, i.e. way before woke was a thing, but that indeed is kinda weird. "All genders

And of course they're doing the same for Apple/Safari, which wouldn't survive without the $20 million default search engine placement deal.

To illustrate this, look at OsmAnd's most recent blog post [1]. They've recently been looking at adding pretty extensive Astronomy features. Before that, they added a lot of nautical tooling [2]. This is all very cool if you use t

As in: you painfully ran into other things on your 100cc scooter before, but only when you actually broke a bone, did you actually stop driving dangerously on it?

I wonder if the initial reason to move them to a separate domain, was because they started to see providers blackholing icloud.com anyway, thus also hurting non-aliased emails? If so, will be interesting to see if that will get worse.

I feel like painfully falling without breaking bones are pretty good lessons already, and I don't quite see what the broken bones add there.

Having new email sent to my new inbox would actually be pretty easy for me even, since I've already been renting my own domain for ages now. It's probably not even several hours of work for me, except that I do want to set that ti
