Yeah, I doubt we'll ever see on in the UK because of licensing issues. That said, it's also range extended so 50kWh is ample. I would hazard a guess it would do about 100 miles on battery alone.

I don't think that is particularly an issue, at least in the UK. They have a guaranteed price per unit. If the wholesale price is above that then it is paid back.

What makes it worse is that the person they were attempting to get the blood from was actually the innocent victim in a crash which resulted from a police chase. The police had no reason to believe the driver was under the influence.
