Nebula is what we use. It's definitely not as convenient, but it's 100% self-ownable.

It does not work on the phone, but I was able to use NFC payments with Google Wallet through my Pixel Watch.

Exactly. I keep everything off the public internet unless it's a website meant to be accessed by millions of people. Nebula is all I use now.

I think you're right insofar as they are trying to reposition themselves as more trustworthy. I think they see the writing on the walls. But at the end of the day, their ultimate end is to make more money. If they do the right thing it
