I'm not sure if you're serious or not. I think the connection that was being made is that, if you evaluate usage based purely on time, Pandora may have a ton of time in use. But, much (or at least some) of that time may be people

Seconding this. I love my etymotics. You can get a pair these days for about 70 bucks (or less). Take the time to try out different tips to find ones that are most comfortable.

The author's post immediately before this one was another story about how David Sacks joined Zenefits as COO. So, possibly the author isn't a shill, but she's just scraping her inbox and publishing anything that comes across

I had a mixed reaction to this blog post. On the one hand it is helpful to understand the risk involved with using Stripe for payment processing. I presume, because Stripe wants to onboard users as fast as possible they back-load some of th

Upon re-reading my comment, it sounds more critical than I had intended. I really like your site's clean design aesthetic. Great work. p.s. Please never come to Arizona. That will remove my last excuse for not going camping (purchasing

Design nitpick: The alert every time you add something to your cart is really annoying. What if I want to add 4 backpacks and 3 water purifiers, etc... I click add, get a pop-up, click ok, then add again, rinse repeat.... Maybe instead just

That is a totally fair point, and you might be right. But I cannot understand the low-grade media backlash here. That was my point. It seems like writing an article with the thesis that "whoever is planning crisis management at Snapcha

Um.. That's sort of their job? Why the outrage here? It's not like the story actually calls for Snapchat's CEO's head to really be severed. That might be offensive. I think the author's point is a good one. If CEO i

I don't necessarily think you're wrong, but I don't like this point. Sure, often people stop listening after Yes,... but... You don't have to accept that. The general excuse, "Managers man... they suck", is som

This really is idiotic to me. It seems increasingly popular for someone to take a minority position and then complain about how they are oppressed by the media, or game companies or whatever. The entire argument is pointless. It assumes tha

Am I the only one who thought, "so what?", after reading this? A picture of sufficient detail taken under optimal conditions can yield reflected images off of the pupil. Big deal. It has always been the case that in a high resolut

Matt, I think these posts are valuable. The readers of HN seem to be exactly the type of people who might be early adopters of Coinbase. It's helpful for those people to know how the service works from a customer's perspective. Th

No. I think the idea of inverted totalitarianism ridiculously abdicates the individual's role in our society, but I don't care to argue that point. The point I was making is that you cannot use the election of Obama as confirmatio

I think there is a lot wrong with this comment. Perhaps since you're an immigrant you're not familiar with the concept of institutional racism[1]. Regarding Obama's 2012 Election: according to [2]and[3], 62 million of 221 mil

I don't understand how your comment relates to mine. Your scale seems somewhat accurate in terms of situations in which a person is killed, but would seem to have next to nothing to do with the case in point. In what percentage of case

Not sure why this has been down-voted. I think you're obviously right about this case. We know for a fact that the author presents no great threat to society. So, in this case we can say that the officers that witnessed his conduct wer

Thank you for the added context. Sadly, it appears that DUI is treated rather lightly in Florida, it's not just in cases of juveniles. For example: [1]Person driving with BAC greater than twice the legal limit kills a pedestrian. They

Why is suggestion caution the same thing as 'blaming the victim'? This is ridiculous. A very good solution to the "revenge porn" problem is for people to not cavalierly take naked pictures of themselves. So, I take a nak

I think you're misunderstanding. The point was that they would test their thesis quickly and with available means to validate their idea. The actual product wouldn't involve burning a bunch of fossil fuels.
