Linux Mint. I moved my parents to it from Windows and they never realised since they only use Thunderbird and Firefox. Never had any issues since then.

Overprovisioned renewables? Hilarious sentence :D As I have said: the transformation is not finished yet. Germany did almost nothing during Merkels time and renewables have still generated more than they lost due to the shutdown of nuclear.
