Obviously hinting at something. Author is ex-Sun, disgruntled with Oracle. Oracle has been offering some open soruce stuff to foundations. Someone who knows more than me could probably elaborate.

In house IT staff are getting made redundant while this is going on. Contractors deserve to get what the market will pay - but it doesn't say much about planning and skills development at RBS does it.

Lot's of peopel do good business in low margin, high volume markets. There is no sense that HP is or ever will be a great software hosue. I hoep Autonomy survives...

Lot of money for Raytheon riding on this. Lot of kudos for UK governmetn as well. if they get taken to the cleaners by Raytheon, what chance have they got of controlling other IT suppliers who don't meet thier satisfaction?

Agreed. I was trying to say that the develpers have talent and if Accenture can work with them, they can move them on to other projects. Also as Symbian declines the cvalue of the remainnig developers with Symbian knowledge goes up - good f

A massive influx of developer talent, but with a lot of baggage - a managemetn headache for Accenture but the developers will be worht more than the OS in the long run
