I fail to understand why I should use it over a different embedded vector DB like LanceDB or Chroma. Both are written in more performant languages, have a simple API with a lot of integrations and power if one needs it

On one hand, I definitely agree. On the other, my issue is that motherboards are already one of the least reliable components in your PC, and introducing even more complications to them just makes the situation (and the cost of replacement)
