Look closely around the red and yellow rectangles and just about and edge meeting the blue and you will see. Open all 3 and tab one to the next and you will notice the big difference.

I don't think that's much of an option. For instance i live in Japan and here most users expect that things will open in a new tab. Take a look at the amazon search results page as an example http://www.amazon.co.jp
