This doesn't mean a thing. Pure entropy. It's amazing how powerless EU Parliament really is AND how people don't get how powerless it really is.

What I'm saying, out of sympathy, is that you should consider a higher perspective. Maybe it's lack of care, just as an example, and maybe it's prejudice with reasons far beyond your control or sheer ignorance and so on. Now

Design is not a thing that can die. It will exist for as long as the human race does. And so will shallowness, tastelessness, ignorance, self importance, agendas and marketing turkey cocks. Don't mix them together my friend, cheer up.

Just a part of all permeating superficiality in tech. The way the business is done got a breed of designers to match.

If you don't go beyond standard interactions and look it's probably fine but let's say I want system chrome to look like the one in photoshop and some custom dropdowns for starters...

Don't know who's right but AI ethics AND harassment in one package feels like some sort of next level.

No there isn't (with resigned sobbing tone) there isn't. Everything GUI related on desktop is depressing prehistoric garbage that still takes ages to make and if god forbid you want something nice you might as well shoot your self

My hard to follow but sincere advice would be - run. I think you know what you are doing and by the looks of things already know or at least feel where it's getting you. Be a little nicer to your self (and don't be stupid).

If tribal ideology is all you are fighting then maybe. But it's a big maybe. Crap is crap. It will not get any less crappier if you get more diverse crap. If a person is not developing intellectually he'll take on some other BS th

This is quite fun actually! Tried different philosopher combinations. Get Alcoholics Anonymous recommendations for quite a few until I add Schopenhauer. And if you are a Rand, Rowling reading techie, apparently, you should read more Eddo-Lo

I object to the first line! At least where I am, designers get their fair share of same s__t. Including from developers ;)

They did. If you're talking people of a certain caliber (Bret Victor etc.) I think they were dying for a wile now. There's just lots of guys all over the world in different companies doing essentially the same thing over and over

It's more common than you'd think. The fact that you still care after all this time and also admit that you can't is actually commendable and very rare. There's nothing worse than an idiot dev who thinks he "has dev

A design question if I may. Site states "gives developers without a deep understanding of design the ability to build visually gorgeous, modern user interfaces". I really don't understand this statement. If you are bad/g

For starters: 1) Forget the Greeks. Anyone tells you to start from the Greeks they are snobs. Showing off and/or having a laugh at your expense. 2) Think about _your_ own "bigger life questions", what are they, what interest

In that sense, personally, everyone cares. But when people have to operate in big org environments priorities change. Think about it, no one wakes up in the morning and thinks I'm going to make something terrifyingly hard to use today.

As long as you exclude UI/UX from "getting things done" it's going to be notoriously bad. Academia, government, enterprise all the same. There's no accountability to actual users and doing UX properly would turn the

I'm a UI designer for almost a second decade now. In short textual content is the last thing I need from a site like this. Forgive me but that is just a load of pointless academic pedantry.

Thank you too. Both really nice sites. At first Interfaceingame feels way better designed but after a while it becomes over designed somehow. Personally, I would choose Interfaceingame visual style and gameuidb nav and naming conventions. (

You are right on the money in a way. Neuromancer was the dream of the future everyone had, once. But it's just a "what" a manipulation if you will. Gernsback Continuum shows the depth of his insight it's a "why"
