I believe your biggest hurdle will be developing the sender reputation for your IP address so that you don't have an issue with email delivery. (It has been a while since I looked in to this, so things may have changed)

I had the same thought. Do you know if there's a list anywhere of valley / well known companies with this type of policy? It's the type of thing that'd turn me off for sure during a job search.
