Yeah not really lol. Only reason to buy this if you want to own your compute. Experimentation and inference are all going to be cheaper on the cloud

I wonder how much network effects help here. There's a lot of consumer surplus with the features GitHub offers. I'm sure they can have better pricing tiers to capture the surplus without losing too many users.

Some times I feel like a lot of people in tech independently go through the same things right around the same time with few people writing/sharing about it. I am also creating this and enjoyed the post and comments all going through th

This is a double edged sword for me, I've dabbled with the Antigravity CLI and it is better but I got a lot of LLM use out of google's chaotic decentralized quotas. gemini-cli had it's own quota, antigravity had it's own

I exclusively use gemini models and this has been my experience. I mitigate it by creating dense planning docs for everything and executing iteratively. Lot's of time wasted on procedure unfortunately

Big side effect of these layoffs is that new talent is reluctant to join, even for more pay. Stability is going to come at a large non-monetary premium these days

Stitch has been very good for me to prototype some designs, and the exporting design feature is great. But jeez, is it buggy, slow and unintuitive at times. Complete shift in google's old engineering culture of high quality - they seem

The amount of RAM needed for this is crazy to think about. And then there's Youtube... Silver lining of current RAM prices is that it changes the cost-benefit analysis of improving underlying software which (hopefully) gets implemented

I tried a 1000 IU vitamin D pills to no avail. Bumped it up to 5000 IU and still saw very marginal bumps in my blood tests I think I might try daily 10000IU after showing my doctor how little it's moving the needle for me

Not really, this is just effectively a new supply side platform for advertisers. Retail companies will just allocate a percentage of their marketing budget to OAI instead of Google/Meta

They're in a tough spot where the CEO does just enough to stay, but they need someone better. They lagged in AI, but the new Gemini 2.5 Pro is incredible. They built an incredible tool in NotebookLM but failed to market it

That's a separate problem which affects small to large players alike (e.g. ScarJo). Small companies interests are aligned with Meta as they are now on an equal footing with large incumbent players. They can now compete with a similarly

Vegas is the best destination for business conferences, but yes I agree with your point. The line connecting NorCal to SoCal is so much more productive that any other line being prioritized is crazy to me.

Every engineer of a company of this size says the same exact thing. IMO more about growth of the engineering teams that lead to any specific culture deteriorating.

Facebook's ARPU in Europe over the trailing 12 months was $69.72 or $5.81 per month. Considering only the most dedicated users are going to pay for this, Meta is most likely losing money with Ad-Free version Source: https://

Snap is the most clear counter-argument to breaking up Facebook/Instagram. People think Zucc just acquired his way to the top when Meta has probably been the top 3, if not best, run company in the past decade. Had Evan sold Snap to Fac

Probably that Meta would rather lift small players to crush established companies (Snap has 330M+ DAU) than allow them to carve into Meta's profits. Will be interested to see down the line how any startups nowadays will fare with Meta.
