Are they trolling? Those are just some glasses with ir light and ir reflective coating. These will make your face more visible to cameras in the dark. Also facial recognition algorithms can easily be adapted to work around the stupid glow.

My fatherland "The Netherlands" does also have these techniques in their police systems. If people start/organize a riot/fight using twitter (mostly after soccer games), they easily see this.

Why is the on the frontpage? This is just a copy/dumb down of the original presentation. Also, the practical use of this idea is extremely limited. Also the poster seems to have an agenda; this is just marketing.
