PowerToys run and fancy zones are very useful and people should use them. I wish Microsoft would put more effort into Run though. Compared to something like Raycast on Macos or Krunner it feels more limited.

Splunk is so expensive and slow. My workplace keeps trying throttle queries and how far back logs are stored. Been spending the last month or so adding ELK stack for tracing to our apps.

Perhaps a new type of emacs. A "terminal" environment that can load web pages, videos etc and is cross platform seems like it has potential.

You're probably right. I just wish there was an easier way to handle json on the command line that didn't turn into its own dsl. The golang scripting seems interesting, might be what motivates me to learn the language.

Why does it have to be bash+python? I'm finding myself using node.js scripts glued together by bash ones these days unless I'm working on a lot of data. Doing that means you can work with json natively.

Modern java is a fairly good language. If you don't like it, can always opt into scala, kotlin, or clojure. I don't understand what you mean by Java not working on multiple platforms. If you like c#/.net that's fine but

This seems great. On a side note, I've been trying to learn powershell lately since I'm stuck on Windows at work. I'm not allowed to download utilities for powershell, and it feels anemic to me compared to a unix shell. An e
