Bullshit. iOS devices have only one way to do wireless backups, and that's with the Apple cloud. Apple could decide that it only does wireless backups with a little home server that you put into your own home, but they decided against

Of course Apple also has Mac OS that is on par with Windows when it comes to not being a total walled garden. And Microsoft also has Windows RT with restrictions that makes it a walled garden just like iOS. So in the end, it all evens out b

That's very well put. If you uninstall an app, all its data is gone. Unless you stored that data somewhere else of course, but the main thing is how Apple approaches data storage is not very professional or confidence inspiring. For me

Can the firmware be updated over the internet, and can the device theoretically send sound over internet if the firmware is changed? If yes, that would be a dealbreaker for me (because, you know, crackers and the NSA).
