I really hope ChatGPT doesn't go with the advertising revenue model. I think the paid model they announced ($20/month) is a good starting point, but there's going to be significant drop-off from the mass market it serves to

One thing to keep in mind is that it uses a lot of memory on the default settings. I've configured mine to use ~200MB/hour. My video resolution is 1792 × 1120 and I record at 10fps.

I wonder what the cost to take down the balloon was for the US (including monitoring it) vs. the cost of the balloon for China. If the ratio is something greater than 10:1, then I would say China got a pretty good ROI on a small investment.

It's an optimization problem. You want to minimize the number of deaths AND minimize the impact on the economy. Let's say if you shut down the entire economy, you're able to save exactly 1 life. Is this a worthwhile tradeoff?
