Seems like using a phone number as an account identifier is a huge risk to privacy. Has Rosenfeld admitted this? It’s just weird to require a phone number unless you’re talking about some big tech botnet like Facebook or Google.

I’m doing this right now. Linux has gotten too large, bloated, corporate. It no longer feels like a community project and there are quite a few recent move that make me question whether or not it will be viable down the line.

Frozen APIs are a blessing, not a curse. The only way forward is to constrain developers to a well-known standard set of tools and interfaces. We've seen what happens when they just get turned loose.
