Lows and rules don't apply to mega-corps like Sony, Amazon, Ebay/PayPal, Google, Apple, etc. They all have no problem storing all this together with address, SSN and everything else.

5 SSDs here, got the oldest 2.5 years ago. No failures so far. I've run them as system drives, DB storage and so on. I'd think a reason for quick wear out may be swap memory. I've never put a swap file/partition on mine.

Yes, really. There is a huge amount of US dollars circling in the oil trade. If those were instead used to buy non-oil stuff, the price of non-oil things will go way up and so the value of dollar way down.

Maybe because of Google Maps on iDevices. Very hard to replace, as there are only 3 companies, including Google, who own somewhat global routing maps.
