There's no practical reason for most people. Spying is the primary function. Edge cases like accessibility or conferencing can be easily enabled with an add on USB mic. You'd need a USB webcam with mic for conferencing anyway.

Aero was peak aesthetics. Flatcrap became commonplace because it was easy. No need for designers, just flat colors, resizable to fit any screen. Perfect for mobile slop!

Nvidia drivers being crap has nothing to do with Linux policies. It's entirely up to Nvidia to invest and improve their drivers but it's clearly not a priority. Their focus is AI. If you need a CUDA accelerator, they're great

Nvidia drivers on Linux are not really display quality. The effort goes towards CUDA for headless rigs. They work great for AI and that's it. Pair them with an AMD and Intel card for display, graphics and video acceleration. Otherwise

iPhones will transmit bluetooth beacons even if turned off. Fortunately the battery goes completely flat after a couple of weeks or so and then they no longer do. Unfortunately this is not very healthy for the battery.
