Does anyone know of a more accurate economic measurement of growth rather than GDP? Building bombs a la Russia and paying a lot for healthcare is great for GDP but are those money well spent to grow the economy?

This. We need nuclear to keep the base load green. Wind and solar need batteries to be base load providers. Building out both battery and renewable infrastructure at the same time is a tall order.

Intel tried to ”design down” their uArch. Also, there is a TON of pro Mac users. If we define ’pro’ as getting paid for work done on Macs.. Not to mention M1 emulates x86 pretty darn well..

Erm, the entire university system in Europe is built on collaboration between countries. ESA is a thing. ITER is a thing. But mainly all those small international projects that simply would be too niche or small for a single country or mark

Exciting times for CPU architectures this year with both the M1 and Zen 3 being highly competitive. The 2010s were a bit of a stagnation when it comes to performances, lets hope more the 2020s is more interesting.

There are a bunch of downsides to large caches. Everything from access time to chip layout to latency and even power consumption. Everything cant be cache and be awesome.. :P
