I’m happy for you and your family so far. What I saw with my kids (now in their 20’s) is they changed from what you are describing with your kids when peer pressure entered their lives, and always-on entertainment of every sort was in thei

Can you expand on that? I’m not sure I agree, and at the same time I think you might be saying something profound that I haven’t understood.

I attempt to live sort of like this too. My mother is beside herself with all of the wildfires in the world. In my opinion that is like stabbing your hand with a fork. I’m aware of lots of problems in the world, but I can’t do much if an

I was thinking the exact same thing. There is no way it’s not continuous (except maybe inside a black hole where space-time rules break down?)

I can’t comment on HOAs being historically racist - I’ve not seen it. But how would that work? They don’t (at least now) get to vote on who is allowed to buy. So how would they keep out whoever they decided was undesirable? Were there b

I find it uses “faithful” an awful lot. But it comes in waves - not at all for a few days and then 10 times in an hour.

I’m sorry but this kind of thinking is non-sense. There are surely a few cases where someone lets power go to their head, but that happens in every place where humans have any power. I’m on an HOA board because no else wants to because it’

I’m sure you could make a ton of money on oil if you had a 30 minute heads up about whether Trump was going to bomb Iran or not on any given day.

Not the above poster but lookup “sleep hygiene”. A lot of the recommendations are solid and have helped me too, especially about fixing a regular sleep schedule.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but the bulk of my token usage is not what I type in - it’s that data the AI is processing for me. I’m shocked they even got an 8% reduction.

Many years ago I lived in a brick apartment and the afternoon/evening sun would hit the wall next to my bedroom, making it very hot at night. I started going out with buckets of water to splash on the wall a few times each evening and

You will get MUCH more uptake and discussion if _you_ write that main github readme page. Many, and I’m becoming one too, won’t bother reading if you couldn’t be bothered to write.

I have a friend (engineer) working on a data center in Texas. It is closed loop. What’s interesting is the chillers have so much condensation that they pump it out to sprinklers which water the desert which now has grass growing. So at l

I figured n8n was another annoying acronym I didn’t know. So after clicking to the article, and then the repo, and then scanning the repo doc, I guess it’s not an acronym after all?

I was on one of the insurers that denied the fewest claims. However, they also had the fewest doctors. I live in a good sized metro area, but the only podiatrist was 50 miles away in a tiny town. I imagine that had the same ultimate resu

This is so true, and it’s true of libraries, OSS, etc. I frequently build instead of using a library simply because I’ll know and can fix the warts, I’m automatically in tune with the state of the code, and I’m in control of maintenance.
