XMPP always seemed great, buy I have yet to find a client that can replace Telegram's client on both desktop and mobile.

It still doesn't actually display a window my end until I press a keyboard key or move the mouse. So very often I sit and wait for it to open, only to realize I have to press a random key for it to unhide. Terrible Linux support.

I downloaded the Radicle desktop client yesterday, entered my new username and password and... nothing happened. Tried restarting the app and do it again, but I never got past the account creation/login screen. So my Radicle adventure

Is Gemma 4 E2B actually "usable"? I've been running Gemma 4 12B and it handles everything very well! But the second I've moved down to E4B it's been unable to perform the simplest of tasks. So I can't even imag

I want to use Thunderbird, but it's so... weird. And why can it not be minimized to tray? Am I supposed to sit and keep the Thunderbird window open at all times?

I absolutely agree. I just don't like this American superiority on HN.

Probably because they're not corrupt America. They don't walk around checking their back every minute for "Uncle Freedom" screwing them over.

Every KDE app I try (and the Plasma desktop) seems so good on paper, and they promise me the world! Then, wen I actually try them out, they always end up crashing or doing something weird. Like I cannot stand GIMP, so I've tried using

This happens to me when I brush off my mousepad too fast with my palm. It will also cause my wireless headset to "reboot".

I recommend changing the key to Super. As holding down Alt and clicking/dragging is often used by many applications and simply won't work then.

That is not XFCE itself, that is up to your theme. I'm on the Dracula theme and have about 16 pixels.

I've been using XFCE for a long time now. I often give GNOME and KDE Plasma a try, but I have to tweak GNOME so much to make it usable, and KDE Plasma keeps crashing and has weird issues (Steam friends list being delayed for example),

They started with Hyprland, GNOME or KDE Plasma. Most of them have ended up using Cinnamon, and the rest use XFCE.

I'm not against Wayland, but I think Wayland is currently not good for the Linux ecosystem. I've had lots of friends try Linux, and they've had issues with Discord global keyboard shortcuts not working, and window positions n

I've tried to run KDE Plasma for years, but it's just so unstable and buggy (I also think it looks bad, but that doesn't really matter). I recently had a friend that said "KDE Plasma is great now, give it a go!" so
