You could download the fonts to your machine(s). That way they will be served locally rather than connecting to fonts.googleapis.com https://fontsplugin.com/how-to-download-google-fonts/

Depending on the signal strength at the place you are visiting you could invest in a 3G Mobile Broadband dongle. Alternatively if you have plenty of time before the trip you could train someone to handle the business for you on a freelance

It's a conscious business decision they have made, you can do whatever you want to with your business. As long as it looks right in all browser/os configurations I don't think your customers will mind.
