Why do they love to go to school? To learn? No - they can do that with the Internet today. They want a higher paying job, nothing else.

The higher the stated minimum wage gets, the lower the real minimum wage gets. You can be certain all other expenses will increase and job benefits will decrease to compensate.

Using only facial recognition cannot identify a person in the world. However, combined with one or two GPS points (photo geotags), you can get pretty damn close.

Yes. We do the exact same with disabled students. Yet no one talks about them. I suppose because it is because "looking out for the poor" makes people feel good.

You can learn how your roommates parents started a billion dollar company (i.e. How to be successful) at Harvard. You can't at your state school -- because your roommates are playing video games or went downtown for the night.

Why does selection bias even matter? If you go to Harvard, you will make more than had you gone to a boring state school. Period. Is there selection bias? Yes. Does it change the fact the Harvard kid is wildly successful? No.

They're not required to release code and a dataset. If you can get away with doing less why not? Everyone in every discipline does this. Finance, home improvement, retail, consulting...

As someone who owns a house in PA/Menlo, no. I will lobby, make calls, and write checks to government to make sure it doesn't happen. Is it fair? No. Ethical? No. Doesn't matter to me.

The demand for AI and ML is increasing faster than the number of qualified graduates and workers. This is not true for semiconductors.

This is exactly what is wrong with ametur machine learning today. People think they can open source some data and expect a deep learning expert to come give them a model for free. Protip: the solutions coming from Kaggle are over engineered
