That mouse looks terrifying, but actually only has 6 buttons, compared to the (much more attractive) mouse the author references, which as 13. So not sure it's relevant, although it is an interesting curiosity.

What exactly is being shown in the animation/slideshow? You said its iterating and maximizing the MLE, but doesn't that just mean you're maximizing a single number? How can that iteration generate an entire heatmap?

In this context, I think "consulting" means Management Consulting, i.e. working for McKinsey, Bain, BCG, etc. Corporate recruiting at top schools is heavily dominated by finance and management consulting firms.

Great site. A trivial gripe: you should get rid of the text shadow on the "Select a Language" title. Grey CSS text shadows on grey backgrounds tend to look blurry, and this is no exception. Or, better yet, make it a white 1px shadow with
