I take back what I said, they do use the higher end variant of exactly that cpu: I7-4980HQ although it's probably aggressively clocked and or binned.

Firefox is nowhere near as big an offender as chrome. Chromes absolute disregard for me frankly offends me. Also, programs like IntelliJ do have low power mode, which does help significantly in my experience.

Chargers are the other thing, I've gotten way more replacements than I should have, pretty much no questions asked. Both in and out of warranty as its a design failure not a case of normal wear and tear.
