I get my recommendations from stackoverflow mostly, so I know the books I read are good. My brain knows the information is legit and takes it all in. On the internet I spend too long reading short pieces, reviews, articles... A book is nice

In my own experience: if I write dynamic code I'm still thinking of types. Especially in Python.. What's mutable, what isn't... This is what my professors at school say too. Less typing (pressing keys) doesn't make you think faster!

Doesn't matter... Dynamic languages are slow by design! Caching and JIT compilers to the rescue!

I would argue that's a Microsoft problem... I don't think office files are even compatible with their own standard: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_Open_XML .

Works perfectly on a macbook (Chrome 19). I've not gotten WebGL to work on Linux with nouveau drivers though..

But it's a Gnome 3 FORK.. They won't be able to keep up with mainstream gnome. They even forked Mutter, the window manager! They should build on top of Gnome 3, not freakin fork it

Just to be clear: I was the person saying things could be better... But I also wanted to point out Vim CAN do most of it. I agree with you on many points... Maybe I could try writing some plugins in the future :)
