I just recently replaced FB messenger between my GF and myself with Matrix.org + Riot.im. Hosting the server (synapse) yourself takes about 15 minutes to setup. I highly recommend it.

MP3s are so small compared to the rest of the internet now that there's a glut of shady websites that cater to people trying to get MP3s. Rings tones are a great example why someone with a Spotify account might google an mp3 for a song

I can't bring myself to buy a Samsung device. The bloatware is cringy as fuck. Maaaybe if it was unlocked right away and someone on XDA put together a Google only rom but short of that I'll never willingly buy a Samsung device.
