Really agree. Programming and gaming are the only things I use my laptop for. I have my iPad for CAD and art, everything else I do on my phone. All my trip planning is done on there, all my finances, everything on the phone.

Have you considered swapping Windows and Linux? Depending on your use case, you can still get pretty good performance out of virtualized Windows if you use PCI-E passthrough

I would blame Adobe. The Adobe suite is massive, and it sounds like it hasn't been ported to M1. So I'm not surprised that it doesn't perform well on the base model. In my experience, it has more than enough ram for web brows
