There used to be an account on Twitter that was heavily involved in this industry. Every now and then I'd glean some slightly useful information from their posts. My favourite one being "the name verification isn't a thing -

I think all of us have read tangentially related battery articles over the last decade. All of them promise new and magically. None have upturned the market. I remain sceptical.

This is what I like to call performative performance programming. I _LOVE_ performance as much as the next guy. And build times should be as close to 0 seconds as possible. But this is approaching diminishing returns and I guarantee that yo

Something I've noticed a lot is the how quickly people jump to complicated answers. I've seen this a lot. A few examples:- - this code isn't logging -> is logging broke -> code was never deployed - 500s are being thrown

I'm so glad we migrated away from LastPass (to BitWarden). It was a breach that caused us to move in the first instance.

Anyone else got a really weird Chorme pop-up asking which cert to use for su3.io:443? Very bizarre, never seen that before. Thumbprints: - 60949a09aab8677f87a0b9eda7099a03ca510fb3 - 1b146798f0dc93773247e86312f1b730c4eeebb3

I'm amazed that this is still being discussed. It's open source, no one is forcing you to use it. If you don't trust the newer versions; use the old versions. If you no longer like the maintainer because of reasons, fork it&#

I mean you can argue the same about Telsa, but look at BYD now. Just because you are first to do x, doesn't mean you are going to be the winner.

This applies to much more than just software, in fact it applies to almost everything. I don't remember where I read it, but it basically boils down to need vs want. I've used that rule for deciding between a new car or used. A fa

Ha! No chance, my case comes in at a beefy 18kg (purchased circa 2008). Some of the components are slowly starting to give up the ghost. My GPU purchased in 2011-03 died a few weeks ago. So it's happening, unfortunately I'm not pa
