It’s comforting to know that even people who work at AWS will sometimes forget about runaway cloudwatch charges. it's not just me!

As far as your backend design goes it really depends on your scaling needs and how much of a purist you want to be about keeping your dependencies open source. If I was just trying to scratch a personal itch I would write it as a Typescript

I was being facetious. It's pretty clear they're running Arch; it says so several times in the image.

Beats have always been in that price range IIRC. They were always marketed as a luxury product, just like Apple's stuff. I think Skullcandy aim to be more approachable.

I don't play Starcraft 2 much, or video games in general, for that matter, but I do enjoy occasionally watching SC2 casts, mostly out of nostalgia for the original game which I enjoyed quite a bit as a kid. I've seen Scarlett'

The only time I willingly do that is when I'm browsing the Web while drunk, and something about the page's behavior or design annoys me, so I'll casually open up the inspector and work out a fix. This has happened several tim

It certainly could use a bit more flair, I think. I chose to avoid that because the goal was to just have something tangible ready by the end of a weekend. I threw the site together while I was looking to switch jobs, so that I could at lea

If I had just put some HTML files on a shared host I wouldn't have been able to learn Angular and Heroku fundamentals while building it ;)

I'm easily amused by domain hacks, as I suspect most people are. I currently own http://jules.codes and I'm not doing anything interesting with it.

run `zcat /proc/config.gz > ~/kernelconfig` (i believe that's the right filename for the average Gentoo kernel; haven't booted Gentoo in a long time) and you'll end up with a full list of all the options you

Most of these I already have. I use GNU/Linux at home and it's what I'm most comfortable using, but at work I need OS X for compatibility with Adobe products. Any software that makes OS X feel a little bit more like home is a

Getting a vape has been high on my list of priorities ever since I've become more invested in my health, which incidentally wasn't a concern until after I began smoking regularly.

Yes, that was more or less my point. I'm wary of analyses of addiction that try to conflate every survivor's experience into a single, monolithic thing. There are similarities, to be sure, but it's more complex than most peop

No, I was completely sober for a few years after kicking all the hard stuff. I acquired a taste for marijuana relatively recently, and while I do smoke quite a bit nowadays, I don't think of it as a coping tool, just something I do for

As someone who struggled with cocaine, heroin and prescription opioid addictions throughout my teenage years, this resonates with me quite a bit, but I'm not sure if I agree with the conclusions the author is drawing. I got clean with

No comment on the game as I haven't tried it yet, but the scroll hijacking on the homepage makes it kind of annoying to read the text, expand/collapse FAQ questions etc., especially in a smaller window. I suggest disabling it once

I work in an open office and my coworkers asked me to take my mechanical home (brown switches). I think it all depends on how tolerant your coworkers are. Edit: if you're careful not to bottom out, then it isn't so bad. O-rings ca
