It'll be a while before it is cheaper than the hydro-electricity we generate here in Quebec.
But yeah, anywhere else it makes sense. Also wonder how cost effective it is in harsh climates where there is less sun.
- fweespeech 11y agoBut it never has to be cheaper than hydro-electric. ;) It just has to be cheaper than pure coal/natural gas/etc. plants.
- matdrewin 11y agoWell I'm not sure about never. I'm sure it's going to happen someday, it's just going to take longer. As for your 2nd comment, I thought I had covered that with: "But yeah, anywhere else it makes sense."
- yxhuvud 11y agoWell, it is never going to be cheaper than existing hydro-electric. It could well be cheaper than installing new capacity.
