Manufacturers wouldn't be making thin clients if there wasn't a demand for them. Initially sure, but without demand they wouldn't last and thus would be discontinued. Equating this to oppression is a slap in the face to those who actually are oppressed. For those of us who actually use the computing power of our desktops - likely a good portion of hn readers - thin clients are hardly an option. But for everyone else? There seems to be some valid use cases to me.
