If you are using Sphinx on a rails project, I strong recommend Thinking Sphinx(http://freelancing-god.github.com/ts/en/ http://freelancing-god.github.com/ts/en/). We used to use Ultra sphinx plugin, but thinking sphinx is more flexible.
