I’m not nearly that generous with my opinion. An alternate read is that the entrenched leaders want to slow down development of competitors. If Dario or Sam A wants to slow down frontier model development because they believe there is an existential threat, they already have the power to do that single handedly. If I discovered that I had accidentally invented a doomsday machine, I wouldn’t be furiously providing access to anyone with a credit card.
