Reddit Now Blocking Firefox for Android with uBlock Origin?
I was recently bit by reddit's decision to block usage of old reddit when signed out, which was my normal mode of reading.
Now, new this morning, I get this error when trying to sign into Reddit on Firefox w/ uBlock Origin:
> An error occurred. Please disable any extensions or try using a different web browser to continue.
Is this real life?
- asimovDev 4d agostill works for me. Maybe A/B testing or just something on your end? Firefox 155.0.1, Android 16 (Samsung S24), uBO 1.74.0
- chucksmash 4d agoRebooted the phone and I now have access again. Inclined to believe it was an A/B test. Firefox 156.0, Android 17 (Pixel 8a), uBO 1.74.0
- al_borland 4d agoThese sites are doing everything possible to make sure real users quit using their sites and go outside instead. Good for them.
- Mbarley 4d agoThe reboot result makes an intermittent experiment more plausible than a blanket browser block.
- abstractspoon 4d agoThat's a generic error message and suggestion. I doubt it relates to the real cause
- khantto 4d agoA/B test that flagged your fingerprint, reboot cleared whatever session state triggered it.
