I'm not a programmer so I can't really relate directly, I was replying more to the idea of using AI as an information-gathering tool.
I guess the analogy could be: with AI you should be doing more complex and more (quantity) programming than you did before. But don't quote me.

What are the names of the API you call, what are good patterns for this kind of situation etc. But your point still stands as in use of AI can make those skills detoriate. And regarding to coding, that you don't know anymore what is in your codebase, how it actually works. Can happen fast if you let AI run in auto mode.
