If we are discussing 1 to 5 year olds, I doubt they spent a lot of time unsupervised. At the least a chain of older kids was probably around them.

- watwut 7d ago5 years old were unsupervised in my grandma generation. 1-4 years old were pervised by 10 years old. Not sure how that counts.
