So I am not sure about recent track record for Apple.
My 2021 Pixel 6 works well for my mother and is getting updates.
- tcmart14 9d agoThats your experience. I've had the complete opposite. A 4 year old iPhone that still felt as snappy as it did the day I broke it out of the box. Never had an android that felt like that after 6 months. And Apple have generations of devices that have gotten a full 7 years of support. We still havn't seen a generation of Android do that since Google changed their policy. I sincerely hope it does happen. Competition is better. But here is a site with some EOL info on Pixel. Pixel 6 support looks like it ends in 3 weeks with a grand total of about 5 years of support. https://endoflife.date/pixel https://endoflife.date/pixel Compare this with the iPhone 11 that came out in 2019 that will be able to run iOS27 (comes out next week) and the Pixel 6 that came out in 2021. And the original point was, "why iPhone over cheap android $200." Pixel 6 was a flagship phone with a launch price of $599. You could have gotten an iPhone 13 mini (release in 2021) and for an extra hundred bucks, been supported until at least 2028.

- tcmart14 8d agoYes I know that. But you were saying track record. That's a 3 year old device. Let's not say they have a track record until they take a device cradle to grave in 8 years. A lot can happen in the next 4-5 years. Then you claimed Apple doesn't have a track record and they have taken a device, claimed 7 years and actually done 7 years cradle to grave.
