One could argue that it’s all the centralization and monopolistic behavior which hinders tech development in the usa. So a breakup might have short term stutters but long term gains.

- brigandish 16d agoBy monopolies, yes. Know what an acquihire is? Heard of a buyout leading to a shut down? That hinders development.
- skinfaxi 16d agoThe creator of a specific technology getting acquihired doesn't stop others from competing with the original. If anything, acquihire is a validating signal and probably leads to more entries into the market.
- brigandish 15d agoThe reduction of competitors and no win for the investors is somehow a signal that entry to the market against an even stronger than before incumbent would be a good bet?
