- throwfaraway135 16d agoI'm not trolling, people/counties of power do what they want, today the west doesn't call Constantinople Istambul because it's the correct name but because the Turks are stronger than the Greeks. And pretending that this isn't the case is hypocritical to me.
- mrhottakes 16d agoPeople with power do what they want, and regular people don't like it. Glad you saw the error of your ways.
- throwfaraway135 16d agoNo people of power do what they want an regular people don't care until other people of power tell them to care.

- throwfaraway135 16d agoIf killing/raping/burning the original inhabitants and stealing the city is good enough for the word to call Constantinople Istambul I don't see why the US which owns part of the lake can't call it something else.

Well, because last time an army marched across that border burning cities, it came from Canada into the US, and they burned all the way to Washington DC. So by your logic, it's entirely up to Canada what it should be called.
- throwfaraway135 15d agomy argument is not about who killed whom but: Historically there is no reason why the US can't call a lake (owned by it or not) whatever it wants. Other countries will call it what's most convenient (if there is an disagreement they side with whom they are allied or who is stronger in the conflict(Constantinople example)). People trying to make this a big thing are playing mercenaries for whatever political party is pro or against this. I thing this is a stupid thing to do but making it more than it is wrong, when you have something like the Epstein files people conveniently don't talk about anymore.
