It's nothing more than US libertarian think tank trying to influence EU policy... Perhaps in an effort to push more anti climate change agenda/discourse in US (but that might be just my projection).

- vlyan 21d agoI think even when it's 45C and your boomers cook alive in their concrete ovens, I will still see these sneering opinions from the enlightened master race, civilized to the point of welcoming their own extinction to preserve the klimat for someone else's children.

- vlyan 21d agoaboriginal Europeans' TFR is about 1.2 and falling. even if did remain that high (it won't!), 750M will become <100M in 100 years and <10M in 200 years. Europeans have already adopted the most effective strategy imaginable to fight klimat change -- extinction. so I don't think it's fair to scold Hans from Hamburg over his carbon footprint. Abdul from Mogadishu may emit less CO2 over his own lifetime, but each of his 5 children will have 5 children, and no one will scold him for it.

- vlyan 21d agoyes. does that not make sense to you? unless Hans is a young global leader who flies his private jet to Davos every year to urge proles to eat ze bugs, his carbon footprint will be less than that of someone with children. (I would use something other than "Abdul from Mogadishu" as the counterpart, but the only remotely European people not going extinct are some subgroups of Israeli Jews.)

- vlyan 20d agonot a single European country has the TFR anywhere near 2. with the median age now reaching >=40, the TFR of 1.0-1.5 means rapid and irreversible decline. is this news to you?
- esseph 20d agoNot at all, I just don't fucking care at all. It's irrelevant. Race is not something I care about, and cultures come and go. The groups we were 10,000 years ago are not the groups we have now, which are not what the groups will be 10,000 years from now. Big whoop.
