Same - loved those other games but Doom 3 felt miserly in comparison to the previous games where you had space to move and options to target. D3 felt like it was just random jump scares more than much else.
I didn't love Q2, but really enjoyed Q3A.
- magicalhippo 3mo agoQuake 2 as a game was ok, but I've always just really loved the visual esthetics of the software renderer. It had this gritty, rough feel that I really enjoyed. Never liked the modern renderer versions, none of them look good to me, too flat, too polished.
