For starters, they should stop forcing people to create an online Microsoft Account.
- fabiensanglard 6mo agoword!
- ticulatedspline 6mo agoThey should, but they won't. I fully expect that by the time we see "windows 12" that possibility will be fully eliminated. Ironically they may have to in order to stay relevant. I'd be surprised if you could find a teenager today that if you asked "would you pay extra for an iphone or android phone that you could use without an apple/google account would you?" that their answer wouldn't be "why would I want that? I'd be cut off from the whole ecosystem!"
- Gazoche 6mo agoWe’re already past that point, Win 11 cannot be installed without an MS account (at least not without some cmdline trickery)
- 1718627440 6mo ago> I'd be cut off from the whole ecosystem! The decision to tie participating in the ecosystem and having an online account, is precisely the topic of that complaint.
- lwansbrough 6mo agoThis is genuinely the least of my concerns. I just want the OS to be fast and lean.
