- throwaway743 11mo agoNope.
- r_lee 11mo agofor a good reason. everything is enshittified and most of the global economy is just financial engineering
- chankstein38 11mo ago100% it's just a way to get us to buy things. Sometimes it feels like the rich are all trying to plan their exit by finding any way possible to take money from people.
- Ekaros 11mo agoSomehow I am starting to feel like that it is not even about taking the money or exit. It is about making numbers go up. Anything for that goal. Without any actual plan for end goal or keeping it together in the end.
- palmotea 11mo ago> Sometimes it feels like the rich are all trying to plan their exit by finding any way possible to take money from people. I think it's just mindless, and not in service of any kind of plan. But that's really unsatisfying, so there's a strong temptation to think there's a plan and look for one. Sort of like the situations that lead to conspiracy theories.
- chankstein38 11mo ago100% agree! When I say or think what I said above I do tend to feel like a conspiracy nut, which isn't typical. It's just hard not to just think they're all evil at this point but you're surely correct that it's just mindless stuff that causes the numbers to go up and they like that. (Like the other response said)
- ranger_danger 11mo ago> for a good reason Why do you let other people control your emotions? How is that healthy?
- bdangubic 11mo agoif I came and rubbed a feather on your neck while you try to work would you be able to control your emotions or would you punch me in the mouth in rage? :)

- r_lee 11mo agoIt's not "other people" but the state of the world, how could people not be affected by their environment? if the economy is collapsing, constant layoffs, stuff getting worse and more expensive, how could I just say everything is fine and ignore reality?
- ranger_danger 11mo agoYou don't have to say it's fine, but you also don't have to get mad at it. One can still control their emotions while acknowledging reality.
