    Because of debt spending, everyone wants to act like we did something amazing. We didn’t, we just pumped in more debt and the economy went up. We are now even more in the red as a nation

  Trump is incompetent at best (a crony at worst), a bull in the legislative China shop, and revels in drawing attention to himself... so it shouldn't be too surprising people are on high alert during his tenure and news headlines get more attention.     Not the GP, but here is an analysis of the BLS data arguing the opposite[0].
